Based on your survey results, we think you should volunteer on a hotline* for abortion seekers. There are a couple of ways that can happen - see more below.
*Sometimes groups run hotlines (i.e. phone lines where the person calls and is answered directly in response to a crisis or immediate need). Some run “warmlines” which is the emotional support version of a hotline. Some run a “cold line” which means that people call, leave a message, and someone responds/calls back when they’re able. It depends on the needs of the clients and the capacity of the organization.
Abortion funds
Abortion funds help cover the costs of procedures for people who are not able to afford their abortions. Many abortion funds are volunteer-run or rely heavily on volunteers to help manage their hotlines and services.
National Network of Abortion Funds is a membership organization of groups that provide procedural funds and many practical support organizations. You can find their list of members here to find one in your area.
